Biography

Anita, a Danville native, joined the Student Life staff in 2001. She came to Centre from a local manufacturing facility where she was a Human Resources Assistant for 16 years. In this position she works on the publication of the student handbook, coordinates the making of college IDs, manages the day-to-day operations of the office, and supervises the Student Life student workers.

Biography

Thomas joined the Student Life staff in October of 2020. He is a 2020 graduate of Centre College with a degree in history and international studies.  While a student at Centre, Thomas was a member of the Track and Field team.  He was also active with the BETA fraternity, choir, student government, and a volunteer at the wildlife refuge.  Thomas will be working closely with the offices of Student Activities and Greek Life.

Biography

Tylar joined the Student Life Office in June of 2022. He is a 2022 graduate of Centre College with a degree in History. Tylar was involved with the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, as well as participating in the Centre Symphony Orchestra and Centre Chamber Ensembles. Tylar will work alongside Campus Activities and the Greek Life Office.

Biography

Kendrick joined the Student Life staff in August of 2011. He oversees non-academic student conduct, serves as Title IX adjudicator, advises the Student Government Association, and he supervises the areas of Campus Activities, Community Service, Greek Life and New Student Orientation, and Residence Life.  Kendrick earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from Bellarmine University in Louisville and his master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina. Kendrick is originally from Liberty, Ky.

Biography

Ashley, M.S., MPH serves as the Director of Health Promotion, working to promote skills and competency development toward lifelong well-being and academic success.  She comes to Centre from the University of Kentucky where she was the Student Wellness Director, overseeing the student well-being programming initiatives, the Well Kentucky Campus Coalition, the Collegiate Recovery Community, and Koru Mindfulness and Meditation.  Ashley also serves as the past co-chair for the NASPA Wellness and Health Promotion Knowledge.  Ashley is a certified wellness coach and has Master's degrees in both Science in Health Promotion and Public Health.

Biography
Barbara is an alumna of Southern Methodist University and began her career in the classroom teaching anthropology at Transylvania University before transitioning to administrative work in student life. Before joining Centre, she worked at Salve Regina University and at the Rhode Island School of Design. She champions the highly residential liberal arts college setting with a strong focus on health and wellness and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Biography

Amanda joined the Student Life staff in June of 2020.  She oversees all aspect of Student Activities, Greek Life, and coordinates the New Student Orientation.  Amanda earned her undergraduate degree in Women's Studies from Iowa State University and her master's degree in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University.  Amanda is originally from Urbandale, Iowa.

Sidney Saxen

Biography

Sidney, originally from Orlando, FL,  joined the Student Life Staff in July of 2022. She is a 2022 graduate of Stetson University in Deland, Fl., with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Education as well as a Certificate in Community Engagement. During her time at Stetson, she served as a student leader in the Bonner Program, where she helped facilitate intersectional training meetings centered around social justice. She also served with Black Homeschoolers of Central Florida, where she supported a team of Bonner students in planning and facilitating community building events. Other involvements include Kappa Alpha Theta, Pi Sigma Alpha, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Phi Beta Kappa. Sidney will support the Bonner Program students in their engagement with local community partners. 

Sarah Scott

Biography

Sarah re-joined Centre College in 2001, serving as Associate Dean and Director of Residence Life.  She is a Centre graduate from 1993 and worked as co-director of Greek Life and Student Activities after graduating.  She received her master's degree in counseling psychology in 1997 from the University of Kentucky and serviced as Director of counseling and Health Services at Georgetown College from 1997-2001.  After working in the Student Life Office for 15 years, she moved to Admissions as Director of the Grissom Scholars Program for first-generation college students, and coordinating other scholarship programs on campus.  Sarah is now back in the Student Life Office as Associate Dean& Director of the Grissom Scholars Program.  Sarah has served the SACCOC accreditation organization as a reviewer for over ten years. 

Hannah Stokes

Biography

Hannah rejoined Centre College in 2022 to serve as the Director of the Kessler Scholars Program, which provides cohort-based community, individualized mentored support, and academic, professional, and personal development for 80 high-achieving first-generation college students.  Centre's Kessler Scholars Program is part of the Kessler Collaborative, a national network of 16 institutions support and inspiring first-generation students throughout their undergraduate journey and creating a national community of scholar leaders.

Hannah is a 2013 Centre College graduate and a 2020 graduate of Northeastern University where she received her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration, concentrating her studies on higher education inclusion and access, and student support and success.  She previously worked for the College as Assistant Director of Admissions from 2013-2018.

Biography

Jessie joined the student life staff in October of 2018.  She oversees community service programming and the Bonner Scholar and Leader programs.  Jessie earned her undergraduate degrees in religious studies and sociology from Bowling Green State University and her master of theological studies from Vanderbilt Divinity School.  She is currently a doctoral candidate in Miami University’s Student Affairs in Higher Education program.  Her dissertation focuses on civic education and explores how colleges and universities prepare students to be active and informed citizens in our democracy.

Biography

Alex graduated from Centre College in 2022 and started working as the Assistant Director of the Grissom Scholars Program soon after.  As a Grissom scholar himself, he jumped at the opportunity to continue working with the program.  Alex has also Co-Directed the Compass Program and worked on other various projects.
