Biography

Anita, a Danville native, joined the Student Life staff in 2001. She came to Centre from a local manufacturing facility where she was a Human Resources Assistant for 16 years. In this position she works on the publication of the student handbook, coordinates the making of college IDs, manages the day-to-day operations of the office, and supervises the Student Life student workers.

Biography

Nancy Katherine joined Centre’s Student Life staff in August of 2021 to serve as Residence Life Coordinator, and in 2023, moved to her current position as Assistant Director of Student Activities. She is a 2021 graduate of Centre College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Music.

Biography

Kendrick joined the Student Life staff in August of 2011. He oversees non-academic student conduct, serves as Title IX adjudicator, advises the Student Government Association, and he supervises the areas of Campus Activities, Community Service, Greek Life and New Student Orientation, and Residence Life.  Kendrick earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from Bellarmine University in Louisville and his master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina. Kendrick is originally from Liberty, Ky.

Biography

Wayne joined Centre College in August 2024.  In this role he is dedicated to fostering opportunities for student growth, leadership, and involvement.  Before joining Centre, Wayne served a the director of Student Engagement at Tiffin University in Ohio.  He studied Public Policy at Lasell University and holds a Bachelor's degree in National Security and Intelligence with a minor in Government from Tiffin University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.  Wayne also earned his Master's degree in Administration - Homeland Security from Tiffin.

Biography
Barbara is an alumna of Southern Methodist University and began her career in the classroom teaching anthropology at Transylvania University before transitioning to administrative work in student life. Before joining Centre, she worked at Salve Regina University and at the Rhode Island School of Design. She champions the highly residential liberal arts college setting with a strong focus on health and wellness and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

 

Jessie Weasner

Biography

Jessie joined the student life staff in October of 2018.  She oversees community service programming and the Bonner Scholar and Leader programs. Jessie earned her undergraduate degrees in religious studies and sociology from Bowling Green State University and her master of theological studies from Vanderbilt Divinity School.  She is currently a doctoral candidate in Miami University’s Student Affairs in Higher Education program.  Her dissertation focuses on civic education and explores how colleges and universities prepare students to be active and informed citizens in our democracy.  

Nathan Whitlock

Biography

Nathan is from Louisville and graduated from Centre in 2022 with a B.A. in International Studies and Spanish.  His studies abroad in South Africa, Peru, Mexico, and Colombia were critical for his understanding of experiential and place-based learning.  These travels inspired his work as an AmeriCorps member, planning service-learning trips to Louisville, Frankfort, and the Appalachian region of Kentucky.  As a student, Nathan led several student organizations, including the Gardening Club, where he discovered his passion for food systems and anti-hunger initiatives.

Nation joined the Office of Civic & Community Engagement in 2022 as an AmeriCorps member, then in August 2023 was hired as the Assistant Director of Civic and Community Engagement & the Bonner Program.  

Jake Williams

Biography

Jake joined the Student Life team in June 2024. He is a 2022 and 2024 graduate of Murray State University with a bachelor's in organizational communication and a master's in postsecondary education administration. Jake is originally from Paducah, KY. Jake will coordinate the campus activities of Greek Life, manage the Combs Warehouse, and run the shuttle program.

Biography

A 40-year veteran of the Student Life staff, Ann, a Danville native, has worked in student activities, housing, and community and civic engagement areas during her tenure at Centre.  Ann's primary role is to eliminate outside the classroom barriers that are hindering a student's success in the classroom.  She has a bachelors degree from the University of Kentucky and a master's degree in counseling from Eastern Kentucky University.
