"My function here at Centre as the ESL/ISS Support Specialist is to meet with students to help them adjust to life at Centre and in Danville both academically and socially. For the past 19 years I have taught French. I started my career in Southern California at a high school in San Bernardino. After moving to Danville in 2005 I taught French at Danville High School. And most recently, since 2012 I have taught beginning French here at Centre. As Mr. Rogers once said ‘There is no normal life that is free of pain. It’s the very wrestling with our problems that can be the impetus for our growth.’ With that quote in mind, I love working with students to help them wrestle with their problems, to discover how they learn, to help them develop and enhance their skills, and to encourage them to live up to their highest potential."- Karen Tubb
