For mental health crises, Centre Counseling provides access to an on-call Centre counselor after hours and during the weekend when school is in session.
Mental health crises include any situation when a student is threatening suicide or serious self-injury and the risk seems imminent. Students may contact the on-call Centre therapist by calling 859-319-1546. If the phone is not immediately answered, please leave your name and a call back number and your call will be returned within five to ten minutes. If you need more immediate support, please one of the other resources listed.
All calls to the Centre Counseling Crisis Line are protected under the same strict confidentiality guidelines as counseling sessions and the same limits apply.
Centre College Counseling Crisis Line: 859-319-1546 (after hours and weekend, when Centre is in session)
Parsons Center for Student Health and Counseling: 859-238-5530 (during the day on week day emergencies, 8am-4pm). Please state it is an emergency when speaking to the secretary.
Please note that Centre counselors are in counseling sessions most of the day and therefore are not usually able to respond quickly to voicemails. Additionally, Centre counselors do not guarantee to check email outside of work hours. All during-the-day emergencies are referred to the above protocol and all after-hour emergencies are referred to our crisis line or to other crisis resources.
