This how-to describes the process of updating your self-service password reset profile.  This profile will allow you to reset your Centre College network password if it expires or you forget the password.  You will be able to set answers to challenge questions provided or you can set your own challenge questions.  You will also be able to set an alternate recovery email address or a phone number the system can send a recovery code. 

 

  1. To begin, open a web browser and go to CentreNet at https://cn.centre.edu, then choose Campus Resources and Information Technology Services.  From the Information Technology Services page click the "Password Management" button and then the "Account Recovery Profile" button. 

  2. Log in with your Centre College provided username and password and click "Sign in". 

  3. It is important that you read the Account Recovery Settings information at the top of the page.  Security Questions and Email Recovery options are required and Phone Recovery is optional. 

  4. Under Security Questions you will need to choose or create four questions and provide answers.  You can select from the provided question list by clicking on the down arrow to the right of --Please select a question--.  If you would like to provide your own question, you can click on the pencil and paper edit icon to the right.  Once you have completed all four questions click the "Submit" button. 

  5. Next choose the Email Recovery section and enter an email address that you want the system to use to send a recovery code.  It is very important that you do NOT use your @centre.edu email address!  Click verify, you will receive an email with a recovery code that you enter in the popup box. 

  6. If you would like to have your mobile device as a recovery option, select the Phone Recovery section.  Enter your cell number with the area code, but without the 1 at the beginning and  from the drop down list select your carrier.  Then click verify  You will be texted a verification code, enter that code in the provided popup. 

  7. You can now click "Back to My Account" or "My Applications" and then Yes under are sure to finish updating your settings.
