Receiving or updating a passport is easy:

• Make an appointment with the Danville Post Office by calling 859.236.6334. There you will fill out the necessary paperwork and submit evidence of citizenship. To see which documents you need to bring with you, click here.

• Get a passport photo taken to submit with your application. The Post Office can do this for $15, or you can go to Walgreens.

• The current fee for a new passport is $165.

If you are a first-year student, watch your email for information regarding our annual passport fair. This is typically held in early fall above the CGC Office and the Danville Post Office will be on site to help you get your passport.

Centre pays for first time passports if you are a Freshman (if you choose to get a passport yourself  we can reimburse you for the cost of the passport itself, provided you give us the receipt by the end of fall semester freshman year. Deadline for reimbursement will be announced.) This is only for Freshman. Centre does not pay to renew passports.

Your passport is the basic international document which identifies you as a citizen of your country. The spelling of your name given in your passport should be used for all records while you are in the United States. The spelling of your name on your visa will be used on your I-20 record.

Always keep a copy of your passport in a safe place, and use the copy to provide documentation if you send it in for renewal.
